Days after Eminem’s newest project, ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′ (Aftermath/Shady/Interscope) leaked, he gave his blessing allowing fans to listen and stream his 16-song album via iTunes. With the Detroit rapper’s song “The Monster” featuring Saint Michael, Barbados artist Rihanna springing to the top of Britain’s charts and has since peaked to the top of Billboards 200, the album is for sure to be a highly anticipated one. Good thing for most of us who’ve been dedicated fans for years, the album’s collection includes the already released tracks, “Rap God”, “Berzerk”, “Survival”, and “Love Game” feat. Kendrick Lamar.

‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′, which is Eminem’s first studio project in 3 years, was produced by his longtime friend Dr. Dre and THE legendary token hip hop dude, Rick Rubin.

[By the way, if you don't know who Rick Rubin is... well, you don't know hip hop. Yeah, he still got it.]

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Eminem discusses the comparison of his 2000 project ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ and current album release.

“As much as it is a revisitation — like this is a different time period in my life. So there’s not gonna be like, continuations of every song or anything like that. To me, it’s more about the vibe and the nostalgia. One of my favorite new things to do is experiment with new, older breakbeats and sounds and s— like that. You know, retro s—, and try to make it current, like bring it up to date. I’m probably working harder than I’ve ever worked in my life. And I’ve probably worked harder on this record than any other record aside from maybe the time period during The ‘Eminem Show,’ which is a little hazy ’cause just so much s— was going on at that time.”

The Chicago Tribune reviews ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′ as rekindling Eminem’s ink-black humor and bruising swagger.

It revives some of his worst traits as a would-be provocateur. And it reaffirms his prodigious agility with rhymes. In an art form that worships wordplay, Eminem still crunches together syllables, silliness and storytelling flights of ridiculousness with acrobatic skill.

Not only are future legendary artists Kendrick Lamar + Rihanna featured on ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2′, we must all ALSO be interested in hearing additional features: Fun., Nate Ruess, and Skylar Grey — definitely.

And note, despite the leak, true fans wait to release day, then buy the album.
